BALTIMORE, Dec. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- RWD Technologies, LLC (RWD), a company that develops and implements organizational performance solutions, announced today the completion of ApplyWise's online college admission counseling program that helps high school students successfully navigate the college admissions process. ApplyWise is the first online college admissions counseling program that builds a personalized environment for students as they create and complete their own customized strategic plan for getting into college. With AppyWise, students can easily track their academic performance and engage in tutorials that address critical issues such as selecting the right colleges, essay writing and mastering college interviews. RWD successfully created an easy-to-navigate dashboard portal and developed interactive eLearning sessions.

ApplyWise leverages the comprehensive methodology developed by Dr. Katherine Cohen, who has helped thousands of students get into the colleges of their choice through her educational consulting company, IvyWise. In 2006, 90 percent of IvyWise students were admitted to one of their top two choice schools and 100 percent were admitted to one of their top three choice schools. By working with RWD to make the methodology available online, the newly launched ApplyWise makes Dr. Cohen's proven tactics and results accessible and affordable for all high school students, not just those who can afford a private counselor.

"We knew we needed a developer who had extensive eLearning expertise, but we also needed someone with the ability to develop a robust dashboard with a complete content management system," stated Dr. Katherine Cohen, CEO of ApplyWise. "RWD fit the bill and was able to deliver a portal that maximizes our ability to engage students and their parents in an interactive, personalized way."

According to a recent study by The College Board, up to 40 percent of high school students want more parental involvement in their college planning process.(1) ApplyWise worked with RWD to make it easier for parents to collaborate with their children throughout this stressful time. The ApplyWise portal developed by RWD gives parents their own dashboard interface, enabling automatic email updates to alert parents as the students proceed through lessons and create drafts of admissions documents, which parents can then read and edit.

RWD's web content management and portal development services improve efficiencies during the creation, management and deployment of websites to provide significant time and cost savings to its customers. RWD's approach creates more capacity for site owners and authors to bring up new sites quickly and make controlled revisions to sites already in production without taking away the creativity and design elements that are unique to each brand. RWD applied this system in order to enable ApplyWise's truly unique eLearning experience in under six months.

"We were quite excited to begin working with ApplyWise as they had a great idea and really seemed to be a perfect fit for us," said Gary Walker, senior vice president, RWD. "We were able to incorporate everything they wanted to offer -- multimedia, interactive lessons, content management and a user- friendly dashboard -- to enable this exciting service that will allow high school students across the country get into the colleges of their dreams."
